About me

I'm Adam Radnai from Hungary, chess coach with 15+ years experience in training, certified Fide Trainer.

Playing experience

Currently I mainly play in the Hungarian Team Championship and sometimes at FIDE Open tournaments - my focus is on teaching.
Past results: Hungarian Junior Championship U20 8th place (2008), Hungarian National Students Tournament U18 1st place (2007), Hungarian Youth Tournament U16 2nd place (2004), Hungarian Youth Team Tournament 2. table - best performance, European Rapid Championship U8 1st place (1997)

Teaching experience

I've been teaching private chess students since 2005 and groups (different levels) since 2010.
I have students from beginners to advanced players (1100-2000 ELO).
I teach both in person and online.
I think that it is important that the students enjoy the lessons, this way learning is much more easier and motivation stays.

My most successful private students have won several Hungarian National Championships (U16,18,20), got 3rd at the “European School Chess Championships 2014 Girls under 17”, 2nd at the “15th European Blitz Championship – Girls U18 “, one of them became WIM in 2017 and she played in 2018 the 43rd Chess Olympiad as the member of the Hungarian National Women Team where the team won 5th place.

Best skills

I have strong communication skills - both with students (from very young children to young adults) and also children's parents. I'm good in organizing lessons and courses. I'm really enthousiastic for learning - I like to learn new things myself, improving continuously. I have good technology skills - I use several chess related and online education related softwares quite well. I'm good in adapting to the circumstances - if the way I planned to teach the material does not fit the student, I can switch to another method - or change to another subject which helps to understand it.
