CWC 2022 Grand Final

As the Candidates Stage for CWC 2022 is nearing completion, it is evident that Fumitoks will finish in 1st place with 75/110 and blitzbullet in 2nd place with 70/110. There are no other players that can possibly complete the Candidates with a score of 70 points or higher, so these two positions can be made official here.

Unfortunately, this year our defending champion from CWC 2021, catask, has politely decided not to defend his title as he has other pursuits. We certainly hope to see him return to crazyhouse in the future.

It follows that the grand final for CWC 2022 will be played between the top two scorers in the Candidates Stage, so we will see the grand final consisting of 60 games of 3+2 crayhouse between Fumitoks vs blitzbullet! This is usually played across 3 dates, with 20 games per day.

Official dates and times for the CWC 2022 Grand Final match sessions between Fumitoks and blitzbullet!

Saturday 24th December
Monday 26th December
Friday 30th December

On each of the above dates, the time period will be the same:
Moscow Time 18:00pm to 21:00pm
New York Time 10:00am to 13:00pm

There will be 20 games of 3+2 crazyhouse played each day, making a grand total of 60 games.

First player to score 30.5 points wins the championship. A tied score of 30-30 will require an additional 2 games at a time, until a decisive result is reached.

Our runner up Fumitoks was the clear standout performance in the Candidates Stage and fought back multiple times during the grand final to keep the score line competitive throughout the 3 days.

Day 1 - blitzbullet def. Fumitoks 13.5-6.5
Day 2 - blitzbullet vs Fumitoks 10-10
Day 3 - blitzbullet def. Fumitoks 7-5 (decisive score reached on 12th game of the day, so remaining 8 games were not played)

Overall score: blitzbullet def. Fumitoks 30.5-21.5
