IAF Youth Council Election

Hello antichess enjoyers! As u all (or almost all) know we just finished IAF Council Election but it included only members who've already turned 18. There are also lots of younger players in our community so we have decided to make a Youth Council specially for the ones who aren't 18 yet.

If u want to be considered for the IAF Youth Council Election, u should write a post in this thread. Tell everybody here about ur antichess achievements and story. Do u have any ideas and suggestions to improve our community? Let us know how u can be useful and how u would like to contribute. U have a chance to add ur applications since today and until 23:59 utc, Aug 17.

Actual voting will take place from Aug 18 to 23:59 utc, Aug 22 and in the end we will elect 7 members for the Youth Council.

If u have any questions, feel free to ask them here but for now we're on the stage where our candidates submit their names. Good luck to everybody!
Hello everyone! :)
I would like to be considered as part of the youth council to bring all type of benefits to the IAF. I discovered antichess while wanting to play a bullet chess game and I accidentaly clicked on an anti game on the lobby. It was a 0+2, so I instantly ran out of time and got very angry. But then I noticed it wasn't standart chess, I looked at the rules and decided to play one more game. I liked it and that is how I discovered anti. Currently I am an AGM and a top 50 player and in 2023 I placed 11th in the ACWC and 13th in the LAWC (a little bit unlucky but still good hehe). If I get elected for the youth council I will do everything I can to help tone and the council at the decisions and actions that the IAF has to make. I have also introduced anti to my friends, and some of them liked it and started playing it, like @aprendizdepatrickrg, that I sometimes teach and prepare for competitions. I hope he will also write in this forum soon :)
Thank you for reading :)

Greetings everyone!
I would like to compete for a position in the Antichess Youth Council to give the best to the federation, of all I can do :)
The story of my journey was quite frank, as it started when I was trying all the variants available on Lichess at a particular time. I figured out while the midst of the game that my most of the pieces were frozen, nd only quite a few were not, of which they were at specific blocks. This annoyed me a lot but later when I started capturing pieces, it felt this was way too easy until when I was mistaken.... Lol, all I had to do was to give away my pieces rather than taking others....! It developed a keen interest of me specifically in this game as it was fun, until when I found that I can do a lot much better in this, which I did and I'm still doing :)
I'm an ASGM, former Antichess 960 Champion and Asian Championship 2023 winner. Highest ranked #1 on Lichess platform.
Although my availability may be not as much frequent as I've my studies to focus upon too, but if I get a chance of working with the council, I'll make sure to give my best and to help the community in the best way possible, may it be in making Excel or Google Sheets, which I've done for the past few WCs, or in assisting various tournaments.
Thank you again for this wonderful opportunity for the youths to be a helping hands in the community :)

Hello!
I would like to apply for the youth council. I started playing antichess after @patrickrg told me about this fantastic variant. I played some games and I was having more fun than playing standard chess, so I started playing a lot of antichess. I am not sure how could I help the IAF right now, but I am willing to do anything that will make antichess better for everyone.

Good day to everyone!

I would like to nominate myself for a post on the youth council. I have been playing antichess (and Losers Chess) since 2020, and have been active in the community since late 2020. I was there when IAF started and would like to see the continuation of this great organisation.

I am an ASGM, BWC 2023 and 2024 Candidate, a blog writer, a study maker, a former streamer (not sure if I will start streaming again, but maybe yes), and one of the best non-e3 players in the world. I have been involved in most of the major changes done by the IAF since 2021. I have also directed a lot of IAF tournaments like ACWC 960, LAWC and BWC. I have also taught and introduced antichess to a lot of my friends.

My future proposals for the IAF:
-> Categorisation of resources for antichess, and making sure there are resources for almost all topics.
-> Discipline and conduct enhancement in IAF-organised tournaments.
-> Promotion of non-e3 openings (e3 is already very popular, it doesn't need any more promotion).
-> Make a procedure for consequences for malpractice or cheating.
-> Promotion of Antichess Variants.
-> Recognition of all Antichess players, and impartiality over titles.
-> Organising IAF tournaments
and many more!
I am keeping this list short for now so that you won't get bored reading the entire thing.

Your suggestions look like youthful maximalism, but they are very correct, damn it.
Ever since I started playing antichess, my journey has been a combination of many ups and downs. Yet, it has been a journey of learning. Perhaps the greatest lesson has been realizing that what truly matters isn't always what’s most visible. Instead of getting caught up in ratings and their superficial hold, I’ve embraced the real reason I fell in love with antichess: the challenge and thrill of every move. Each move represents not just itself but the many that follow. I’m sure all of you have found much in antichess too. Who would’ve thought?

Hi everyone! I want to give back to the community so that more people can enjoy antichess.

As an Antichess Grandmaster and former top 20 player, I believe I have much to offer to the youth council. But we all know that having the ability to make a difference doesn’t always mean taking the steps to do so. I believe I will, because in other areas of my life, I’ve always found the motivation to create change.

Here’s a little example:
I’ve always been passionate about both sustainability and finance. To make a difference, I created a non-profit, raised over $10,000, and installed solar panels to provide relief from the heat in rural villages with no electricity costs. To further my passion for sustainable finance, I’ve delved into business, placing 5th nationally in a business financial plan competition against over 2,000 competitors, and 5th in economics against over 200 competitors. I also worked in an internship with my county to drive over 50 businesses toward sustainability. I plan on using these experiences to continue advocating for sustainable finance as a solution to climate change.

Why am I telling you all this? I’ve found a similar place for antichess in my life, and I believe it will remain there, as it has for the past four years. I’ve created several social media platforms for antichess to be made known through (such as linkedin). I believe the IAF can expand globally, bringing in-person antichess tournaments to life beyond just Europe.

A few of the many ideas I’d love to work with all of you to bring to life:
-> Antichess Puzzles
-> Tournaments even for lower rated players (more chess players can try antichess)
-> Market the Antichess unique value proposition (fast paced and exhilarating nature of the game)
-> Publishing of ASGM thought process when playing different game positions (helps understand what to look for)
-> Creation of non profit that represents the IAF
-> Accumulation of funding through that and grants
-> Working with schools’ chess clubs to do antichess activities
Hello!! I would like to present myself as a candidate for the IAF Youth Council.

I have been playing antichess since the start of 2023, and while I can be "new" to this awesome variant, I believe I have what it takes for this position.
My anti journey was a bit of a rollercoaster, as once I started, I realized I could not move all my pieces, and I had to take others. A quick glimpse at the rules gave me lots of interest in the game. While I started at 1000 Elo, I fought my way into 1800, and slowly over time, I reached the ACM title. I did not stop there, as I wanted more. I am currently an ACM, with 3 AM norms to my name.

I don't consider myself as a top anti player just yet, so I might not have lots of experience and game knowledge, but I can offer some ideas that can be done with help from the awesome community:

- Extensive rewiew of ALL antichess openings registered in the IAF official website.
- Review of antichess tactics used in top-ranked games
- Many more to come!

That's all I have to offer. Good luck to all of the participants, as all of you have amazing proposals and all of you deserve a spot in the IAF.
Thank you for reading. May the best candidate win!
