This is an old program, does alpha/beta search with a very simple evaluation function that scores (a) material and (b) a small contribution of "centralisation" of pieces and pawns. So the position scores more with a piece in the centre. There is no concept of king safety, or rooks on open files in the evaluation function. That is the bot's weakness.
