He began his working life in 1980, in the Economic Department of the Central Azucarero Jesús Rabí, Calimete, Matanzas. From 1981 to 1990, he was an official of the State Statistics Committee of Cuba in the Directorate of Standard of Living.
From July 1990 to September 1996, he was a Methodologist for the National Chess Commission. From 1996 to 1997 he worked in the Investment Evaluation Directorate of the CIMEX Corporation, Cuba.
Member of the Executive Committee of the Dominican Chess Federation 2006-2208
Author of the book Chess for amateurs - 1996 and From Capablanca to Magnus Carlsen - 2020
Selected by FIDE among 15 senior chess players for his career as a player, coach and writer. FIDE veterans support program 2021.
